Welcome back, cowboy. Love the 50 word stories. I know how difficult it can be to get back into the swing of things. Still struggling with it myself. No pressure, good to smell the roses once in a while.

Hi, Jim! Those roses sure smell good! I have to make it part of the routine, it is so easy to get caught up in less important things. Thank you!

Something about imposing restrictions on writing results in very good work. Maybe when every word must count, we make every word count.

I also participate in Justin Deming's 50's by the fire. Having to write the story in exactly fifty words is as worthwhile challenge. I tend to go a little over, initially. I have to carefully consider what words have to go. Which are the most crucial. Which the least crucial.

p.s. The above is exactly fifty words.

A very good 50-worder, Rad! And it is a challenge, it has to gel, it has to fit. Thanks!

Ahh, thank you so much for the mention here, James. What a treat to read a handful of your fifty-word stories. They’re delightful. It’s great to have you back—see you by the fire! (And hooray for no jury duty!) 😀

Welcome home, cowboy! I missed you. Thanks so much for bringing these wonderful short pieces back out for us to reread. It is a collection that shows the many faces of James Ron -- something to be proud of, I'd say.
