You reminded me of how we used to go to the Delta when I was kid. We'd come up from LA with a small boat. It was always magical (and foggy). Thanks for the memories!
Wow, James Ron! Thanks for taking me along on this spontaneous road trip. Next best thing to being in the passenger seat, and it brought back such memories. It has been many years since I said to my young husband, "Let's take a ride." The concept of just "taking a ride" -- I wonder if people still do that. We never had a destination in mind on those Saturdays or Sundays, we would just go out on roads we had never been on and explore for hours. Cheap entertainment when you are newly married and have a low budget. We sure saw a lot of countryside - mountains, shores, valleys, forests... sigh.
