A cell phone in a sauna! Noooo! was the first thing I thought when I read that. I once foolishly brought a book into a sauna. It was fine for the dry phase, but then when the water was added to the stones... oh, my poor book did not fare well. I can't imagine what it does to electronics.

Hi J.M. Yes, I've seen a couple of paperbacks. The cover/pages are never the same. I see headphones and earbuds. Saw cell phones in the steam room, too. Crazy. I can't tell if people don't know or don't think about it, or don't care. Both the heat and the moisture, especially sweat, are bad. Thanks for writing!

Ah, James, you are quite like me--a seasoned observer of humans. And what better place to observe than in a confined space with a random collection of personalities. These are great stories, my friend!!

Hi Jim. It's a bit awkward hearing what might be private in some instances, but it's in public. What can you do? I'm glad you like them. Thank you very much!

I really enjoyed these sauna stories, James. The painter’s was my favorite. Looking forward to reading more!

I'm liking your sauna stories, James. Jim C also comes in with great, 7/11 stories. We need those episodes! It's snowing today; that sauna sounds nice!

Thank you, jm. I know. Jim's 7/11s are great. Always wonder what the rest of the stories are about.

I love a good sauna. I also love mint in the sauna winter. Does that make me less of a purist? I grew up in a county where they grew and distilled peppermint and spearmint. The aroma from distilling mint grew especially strong in the evenings as the humidity rose.

That would be nice. I can almost smell the mint. Yes, saunas are easy to get used to. Thanks for writing, Switter!

Ah James, sounds like you have a pretty good life right now- time to luxuriate and socialize and relax. Good for you, my friend! You no doubt deserve all of it!

Hi Sharron. The sauna is my one regular attempt at socializing. I'm lucky that it is nearby and I can work it in to my routine. It is supposed to be a healthy thing to do. That is its main draw. But it does feel good. Can't say as I necessarily "deserve" it though. : )

Have you ever tried a cold plunge, or cold showers? It's invigorating :)
