Ron I swing by your site to get refreshed. To be reminded how much there is in the world to write about in a clear direct style. It's like a glass of clear cool beer at the end of the day. Never stop!
Thank you Steve for your very kind words. I most appreciate them and your readership! Sorry the delay in replying, been traveling, all is out of kilter.
Now this whole Indian dance with the canoe coming across the lake strikes me as eerily familiar. We had something similar at the scout camp I attended in Kansas, but without the eagle dance. I can picture the empty canoe with the torch coming across the lake. Thanks for bringing back memories of my scouting days, James. The campfires were a lot of fun. I don't know how you remember so much detail, but I'm glad you do.
You're welcome, K.C., and thanks for reading! I've enjoyed remembering those days. Scouting and Indians just go together. I remember making our Indian getups was great fun. Saw some native Indian tribes dancing at a Scout conclave in Champaign-Urbana. Made a big impression. Collecting the colorful troop shoulder patches and scarves from around the country was a big deal. We'd trade them like baseball cards.
"I had one job. And that was to get the Chief onto the landing platform without him falling in the water." I read this and heard myself say out loud, "Uh-oh!"
You are a fine story teller, Ron. You have so many great memories to share with us. Keep it up! You have fans.

You got to dress up as Indians and nobody made a fuss about cultural appropriation. A way different time than now.
Hi, David. I didn't even think about that. We live in different times now for sure. Thanks for writing!

Yes, it would have been a spectacle to dump the Chief. Thank you, Sharron! I sure do appreciate your support and kind words.
