Thank you, K.C. Sure is a beautiful place. I think my speech went over ok. I'm pretty sure no one there had heard Japanese spoken with a Louisiana accent. I didn't see anyone laughing, but the Japanese are a polite people. Btw, "Twenty Miles West of Branch, Texas, and Other Stories" is on its way. I'm looking forward to it. : )
Fascinating, Ron. Such natural beauty and elegant yet understated architecture. It does seem a little intimidating for a westerner, awkward in the local culture and completely clueless in the language. You are lucky to be married to an expert! Always enjoy your style, my friend.
I am indeed lucky. Having Shino and family as tour guides, we made it to places the tour buses don't go. It is a beautiful country and we often think of moving there. I'm thankful for your support and encouraging words, Jim! I miss your stories.
Such a fine travelog, Ron. I would have loved every minute of it! Well, except for the nine mile uphill run. Or the downhill either, for that matter. Thanks for sharing these adventures!
These travelogs are terrific, lots of detail and local color. You had guts to make that speech in Japanese, James. I'm glad it went well.

Thanks for the support, James. Let me know what you think of it.

Ha! But the 9-mile up and down was the funnest, and most beautiful, part. : ) Thank you, Sharron, I much appreciate it.
