#82 - The fog could stretch for miles, then clear up, in patches, having dissipated or lifted. The urge was to get up to speed again, only to have the fog close in again.
Great-seems like all hunters, fishermen, etc. have stories (and accidents) like yours. And yet, we go again and again. Your story brings back some memories. Good job.
Hey James! That really means a lot. Thank you so much for the support! I’m happy you enjoyed the book. And he was one cool grandpa. I’d love to be able to chat with him as an adult.
Hi Jim! Yes, I think that's true. It is tempting and so easy to slide into a state of complacency and inactivity. It's hard to overcome inertia. We plan on getting out on the open road again in the near future to make some new memories. : )
Well, I'm sure glad someone knows that the alligators aren't active. I'd probably say the hell with it and go surfing instead. As for cold, nope. Gimme sunshine and lovely warmth. I've done cold and colder 20 below. No more... :)
Oh, James, this is the funniest line ever "We made plans to come back next weekend." And why wouldn't you?! After all the PAINFUL mishaps and freezing wet weather, you were still in. Must be a guy thing.

Thank you, Kent!
Funny post. 💜
Hello Sue! Sorry the delayed response. Thank you very much. Write on!
Let’s just say I winced a time or two while reading this one, James. Ha! What a great story.
We were in single digits around here last week...brr...but thankfully we’re back up in the balmy thirties. 😄
Hey Justin! Thank you! Too cold for me. Btw, I really enjoyed your "50 Fifties" stories. Good job. Cool Grandpa!

Those are the best stories. Even the ducks would agree! The best thing about the cold, is unthawing!
Hi jm! Yes, nothing like knowing the cold part is over and feeling the warmth returning.
Ooooh the zipper thing! Cringe. Ditto on the cold, the only ice I see is in my glass these days.
LOL - "the only ice I see is in my glass these days." I'm going to use that. : ) Thank you, Jim!
Too many people are content to sit home and watch TV sports while stuffing their faces with Cheetos and diet soda. Ahh, the open road beckons me...

I haven't had that much 'fun' in a long time.
Me, neither, Rad. Thanks for commenting!

Hi Victor! I've was in colder climes for a few winters. It got down to single digits at times. But me, too. No more cold. Thanks for writing!

Hi Sharron! I think it is a guy thing. We did go back the next weekend, was fog free, with mild weather, and no unusual occurrences. Thank you!
