I went traveling down south some years back and remember New Orleans and the Quarter well. What a great place. I even looked at a few houses while I was there just in case. I remember saying OMG to myself when I was down in your neighborhood by Tchoupitoulas St and looked up (up!) to see a ship passing. Good memories!
Nice flashback to New Orleans; I barely remember a family trip to Cafe du Monde back in the day. I never made it back to ride under a Mardi Gras float, unfortunately:)
Ah, this brought back such fine memories of a very singular city. There is no place like New Orleans for music. Beautifully written, so nostalgic. I never got to see the after 3, extemporaneous jam action, but you made it come alive. Thank you, James.

New Orleans has many fine memories for me. It was a long time wishing we hadn't moved away. Cool that you know of Tchoupitoulas St.!
I had to look on the map to remember the location, but I remember the general neighborhood at a bend in the river. I liked the vibe there.
Ron, after reading this I can hear the sounds & see the sights n the Quarter. ...
I had forgotten about that pretty girl on a swing in the window on bourbon street!

Well, I'm glad she wasn't just a figment of my imagination. :) Thanks for verifying!

You definitely captured the feel of a (long) night on Bourbon Street. Nice work.
Much appreciated, Jim!
James, I felt like I was there with you. What beautiful writing. I loved the details you sprinkled in throughout this piece. Great stuff!
Thank you, Justin! It was fun writing this one.
