Hi, Sharron. Thank you. I found the oil rig workings interesting to me , also.

Got a little flashback action to a time I worked on an oil barge. We went by helicopter :) Thanks James! We'll see what happens to the kid next. Now reading other comments, I see the kid was/is you. How about that brother!

Aren't helicopters cool? And you worked on an oil barge, too! It was the only time I've been on a helicopter. The flight took about an hour. It was a god job. I like being on the water.

A long time ago, yeah. Our flight time was about 30 mins. And we weren't actually grabbing oil; we were drilling down and pulling up samples for a lab to see if oil was a possibility down there. Fun times...

I enjoyed reading this, Ron. Love the details...😁

Great read, James Ron. Told through the eyes of a younger dude; some gutsy choices in the day. The descriptions, the Louisiana vibe made it interesting.

Thanks, JM! Yep, younger then. It was a good job. I would have stayed for a while if timing was different.

That's fascinating and well told. I think most young men of that era would have jumped at the opportunity to work offshore like that. I certainly would have.

Seems like the old man was keeping you on a short leash. I'm waiting to find out what became of you and Amy. Thanks for sharing brother!

Thanks, Jim. Yes, it was a short leash. It was a great experience. Hard work and good meals.
