#21rp - I got a call to pick up soil samples from a geologist in Livermore and deliver them to an analytical lab in Concord. The soil would be tested for environmental regulations.
I have always enjoyed making these connections with people. Years ago, my wife's first cousin was marrying a guy with the same last name as ours. I was eager to find out if we had any relatives in common so I struck up a conversation with him the day after the wedding at lunch--asking when his people had arrived in the US, where they had settled, what part of Ireland had they come from. His answer to all of these questions was "I don't know." The unsaid answer was "I don't really care."
I guess for some people, history starts the day they were born.
Yes, I've seen the lackadaisical attitude. I don't get it but it's a negative thing. Wonder what else comes with the attitude. Thanks for dropping by, Jim.
To meet a distant relative under those circumstances is quite remarkable, James. Thanks for sharing.
It has always made a good story. Thank you, K.C.
Oh, this is lovely! Reading this warmed my heart - I'm so glad you established this brilliant connection.
Thank you, Rebecca. I'm glad we met, and had the time to become closer.
Lovely story, Ron! You two have a connection. I am happy to hear you followed up on it. In the end, you know, all we got is family!
Yes, I'm glad we met. A sense of family while away from family. Our close proximity and time were the catalysts. Thank you, Sharron.

I think you got more than just the guitar. Bu thank God for the guitar!
I think so, too, Chip. "thank God for the guitar!" - Absolutely.
Wonderful post James - another example of how we are more family than we will ever know.
Hi, Mark, thank you. I'm glad you like it.
